Our retreats offer you a chance to discover the real meaning of Yoga, which is much more than a series of physical postures. Yoga is a way of life, and our vision is to share the teachings and philosophy of Yoga to promote a holistic way to health and wellness as well as medicinal Ayurveda treatments in the purification of body and mind.

All of our retreats include personalized Ayurvedic consultations, massage, steam bath treatments, Yoga philosophy and cooking classes for those wanting to take home the exotic taste of Kerala. Guests will enjoy three vegetarian, nourishing meals daily as well as snacks, fresh juice, tea and coffee.

Swami is an experienced spiritual teacher focusing on classical Hatha Yoga, Meditation and Yoga-Vedanta philosophy. With more than 20 years experience, his knowledge brings gentle peace and kind manner to beginners as well as skilled Yoga practitioners.
Dr. Dinesh is a professional Ayurveda Doctor for more than 20 years. He works as a visiting consultant physician, teaches students and organizes seminars, workshops, and research on Ayurveda and other alternative medicine
Jayesh is a Masters graduate in Yoga making him an exceptionally qualified instructor in both Hatha and Ashtanga traditions. He has travelled widely to various parts of the world to share his passion for teaching Yoga and spirituality to people from different walks of life.
Pratheesh is a highly experienced senior Yoga teacher focusing on Hatha & Ashthanga Vinyasa (Mysore style Pranam Guru SharathJois). He is an expert in teaching Yoga with wonderful skills to mould student practitioners reach proper alignment and maintain correct postures so that they can practice themselves mindfully and with ease. Sreejith is a passionate and committed Yoga teacher with more than 14 years of experience in teaching Hatha, Ashtanga Vinyasa ,Yoga therapy and more. His customised teaching plans as well as group teaching skills make him an exceptional Yoga teacher. Sreejith had been training under Pranam Guru Sharath Jois in Mysore for over 4 years
Karen completed 900 hours Yoga Teacher Training Course in May 2019 from The Yoga Institute, Mumbai in Hatha Yoga. She has been practicing for several years prior to becoming a Yoga teacher and has been teaching since 2019 in Mumbai, Goa & Kerala.Karen has varied experience in conducting Yoga sessions for groups, individuals as well as corporates.
Our accommodation provides you all the warmth and care that remind you of home with the added luxuries of an eco-resort. Each of the available rooms are different and offers a unique blend of antique charm and modern comfort. Single and double rooms are available. All rooms are air conditioned and offer stunning views of the surrounding greenery.
Our organic farm provides us with a variety of homegrown vegetables, fruits, nuts and herbs which are used in the kitchen and transformed by our chef into soul nourishing foods.
Maneesh, our in house chef is passionate about the food he prepares for our guests. You will enjoy a combination of traditional Kerala foods and other delicious and nutritious vegetarian cuisine made with love.
Enjoy a cruise on the backwaters, visit Fort Kochi, explore the tea plantations of Munnar or perhaps enjoy a day by the seaside or nature hike (optional on extra payment).

A collage of greens strewn with a million hues. A symphony of nature played by the birds, leaves and the bamboos. The music of stillness and solitude. Not to mention the chorus of geese and a whole lot of pets that dwell happily in the Village. The feel of grass crushing, leaves crunching and twigs snapping beneath your feet. The smell of fresh earth and the flavour of herbs and spices. The Village manages to cast a spell around all your senses.
In 2007 when founder Unni visited this piece of land, it was a neglected 7 acres of incredibly unkempt rubber plantation and unwanted weeds. In this rich though untended soil, Unni saw his chance to grow his dreams - dreams of working with nature, creating a better environment for the life on this land, and create a space for spiritual growth, yogic practice and cross cultural experiences.
From farming to waste management, all our activities are pursued with a holistic approach and social responsibility. The supplies for the kitchen are organically grown on our own land. Additional supplies are procured from nearby farmers and food producers.
The estate has been planted with specially considered vegetation that grows well and also enriches the biodiversity of the estate.
The effects of our sincere and single-minded efforts can be seen in the vast variety of birds, butterflies and other native species that have found their home in Hinterland Village. There are more than 54 species of birds, including some migratory ones, and more than 20 species of butterflies, including seasonal varieties, along with Asian palm civets, mongooses, flying foxes and also snakes.
