Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at hinterlandvillage@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

A consistent yoga practice and sincere interest in learning are more important than flexibility or advanced postures.

You do not need to be able to perform complex asanas.
You do need to be willing to:

  • slow down

  • listen to the body

  • learn from sensation and experience

This training values awareness and presence over physical achievement.

Most TTCs focus on posture, sequencing, and performance.
This training focuses on how the nervous system shapes movement, breath, attention, and behaviour.

Here, regulation is not a module — it is the foundation of:

  • how practices are taught

  • how learning is paced

  • how rest is honoured

  • how teaching responsibility is understood

You will learn why certain approaches overwhelm people, and how to teach in a way that supports safety, capacity, and long-term wellbeing.

No.
This is a yoga teacher training, not a therapy or trauma-treatment program.

That said, the training is nervous-system-informed, which means:

  • practices are paced carefully

  • language is non-invasive

  • safety and choice are prioritised

  • emotional responses are respected, not pushed

The work is held ethically, without catharsis, force, or personal disclosure pressure.

This training is right for you if:

  • you are drawn to depth rather than speed

  • you value safety over intensity

  • you want to understand your own nervous system deeply

  • you feel the responsibility of holding space for others

If the language and pace of this page resonate, that is often the clearest sign.

You will learn the foundations of Hatha Yoga, so some mobility is required, however practices can be adapted to your needs.

You will also learn somatic practices which
are slow, embodied, and sustainable.

The emphasis is on:

  • joint health

  • nervous system safety

  • breath and internal sensing

  • reducing unnecessary effort

This is not a physically challenging or endurance-based training.
