A 21-day guided Yoga journey
Bringing together movement, breath, attention, rest and traditional Yogic practices of self-cultivation.
Sense, ground and express from a foundation of support.
Develop a more responsive relationship with the body through weight, breath, movement and rest.
Explore the movement and cultivation of vitality.
Breath, rhythm and coordinated movement offer different ways of gathering, directing and experiencing energy.
Develop greater sensitivity to the responses of body and energy.
Cultivate attention through movement and stillness, allowing a more integrated experience of practice to emerge.
Yoga has always been understood as a transformative practice.
But what develops through practice is also influenced by how we approach it.
We can learn many techniques, postures and practices without necessarily developing a deeper relationship with practice itself — one that can move with us through different seasons of life.
And when Yoga becomes another thing we have to get right, it can become increasingly difficult to listen.
We can become more concerned with performing the posture, completing the sequence or achieving a particular experience than recognising what is actually happening within us.
Our ability to sense the body, recognise changes in energy and respond to what is present can gradually become secondary to what we think the practice should look or feel like.
Yoga can then remain something we do to ourselves, rather than a practice through which the whole person is gradually cultivated.
Embodied Elements begins from a different place.
Embodied Elements begins with what is already present.
Through movement, breath and stillness, we learn to sense the body, recognise changes in energy and develop greater awareness of how we participate in practice.
The intention is not to remove discipline, effort or challenge, but to apply them with greater sensitivity and discernment.

Embodied Elements has been developed by Aje Ras Akarsha, co-founder and lead teacher at Hinterland School of Yoga.
For more than a decade, Aje's practice and teaching have been rooted in traditional Hatha Yoga and Yogic self-cultivation, alongside continued exploration of embodied movement, nervous system-informed practice, Smai Tawi Egyptian Yoga and Qigong.
The programme brings these influences into a progressive personal practice while remaining grounded in the traditions from which they come.
Aje leads Hinterland's residential retreats and teacher training programmes and has taught both in person and online internationally.
