Seven nights at Hinterland Village, Kerala
A personalised retreat for people who have been living with prolonged stress, responsibility or overwhelm and need more than a few days away to rest.

When life has involved prolonged responsibility, pressure, uncertainty or constant demands, simply taking time off does not always mean the body knows how to rest.
The 7-night Nervous System Reset creates space to slow down and begin noticing how your body responds to effort, rest, movement, breath and everyday pressure.
Rather than trying to force relaxation, the retreat uses personalised nervous system-informed practice alongside yoga asanas, meditation, breathwork, Ayurveda, deep rest and time in nature to gradually support greater regulation.
Over seven nights, the focus is on establishing a clearer baseline, recognising habitual patterns of tension and effort, and experiencing practices that can support you both during the retreat and when you return home.
This is not simply a week away from life. It is an opportunity to begin relating to life differently.
The 7-night Nervous System Reset focuses on establishing a foundation for regulation.
Your retreat begins with Baseline Mapping — understanding your current relationship with stress, rest, effort, energy and recovery. This gives us a starting point for personalising your practices.
From there, the retreat progresses through:
Arrive — Slow down, settle into the environment and begin noticing what is present without immediately trying to change it.
Regulate — Explore movement, breath, sensory awareness and rest while becoming more attentive to effort, tension, capacity and the ways your body responds.
Coordinate — Bring breath, attention and movement together so regulation becomes something you experience through the body, not simply understand.
Integrate — Recognise what supports you most and establish simple practices you can continue at home.
By the end of the retreat, the intention is not to have “fixed” the nervous system, but to leave with greater awareness of your patterns, an embodied experience of regulation, and practical ways to support yourself beyond Hinterland.
No two people arrive at Hinterland in the same place, so the Nervous System Reset does not follow one fixed programme for everyone.
Your retreat begins with Baseline Mapping — looking at your current experience of rest, energy, effort, attention, pressure and recovery. This helps establish where you are now and what kind of practice may be most appropriate.
Throughout the week, your sessions are adapted according to your current capacity and response. Some days may involve more movement; others may call for slower practice, rest, Ayurveda or simply less doing.
Personal guidance allows us to observe what is changing and adjust the retreat as it unfolds.
You are not expected to fit yourself into the programme. The programme responds to where you are.
The Nervous System Reset brings together personalised embodied practice with the established yoga, Ayurveda and retreat experience at Hinterland.
Nervous System-Informed Embodied Practice
Movement practices drawing from yoga, Qigong and functional anatomy, with attention to the subtleties of weight, breath, balance, coordination, effort and sensation. Rather than prescribing a fixed intensity, the practice develops greater awareness of how you move and respond, adapting challenge and complexity to your current capacity.
Personal Guidance & Baseline Mapping
Individual assessment and ongoing guidance to understand your patterns and shape the retreat as it progresses.
Classical Yoga & Meditation
Yoga, meditation and breath practices that complement the personalised work rather than asking you to fit into a fixed level of practice.
Siddha Walk
Guided walking practice using rhythm, movement and attention to develop greater stability and embodied awareness.
Yoga Nidra & Deep Rest
Opportunities to explore stillness, non-doing and restorative rest without making relaxation another task.
Ayurveda & Massage
Ayurvedic treatments and therapeutic bodywork support physical recovery, ease and the overall rhythm of the retreat.
Nourishing Food & Nature
Fresh vegetarian meals, herbal support and unstructured time within Hinterland's natural environment complete the experience.
Not every hour is scheduled. Space to rest is part of the retreat, not simply the time between activities.
The retreat follows a supportive daily rhythm while leaving genuine space between practices. Your schedule may vary according to your capacity and how the retreat is progressing.
Morning
Personalised nervous system-informed embodied practice, followed by breakfast.
Late Morning
Meditation or sound meditation. On some days, this time may also include Ayurvedic massage or treatment.
Afternoon
Ayurvedic massage or treatment, personal guidance when appropriate, free time, rest and time in nature.
Late Afternoon
Classical yoga, Yoga Nidra, meditation or breathwork, depending on the rhythm of the day.
Evening
Dinner followed by quiet, unstructured time and rest.
The balance between practice, treatment, movement and recovery is part of the personalised nature of the retreat.
Hinterland Village is set within seven acres of tropical greenery near Kochi, Kerala, offering enough distance from everyday demands while remaining easily accessible.
The natural environment is part of the retreat itself. Between practices, there is space to walk, sit beneath the trees, rest, read, sleep or simply spend time without needing to be doing something.
Rather than creating an intensive retreat schedule, Hinterland allows practice, nourishment, Ayurveda, nature and unstructured time to form a slower daily rhythm.
The intention is simple: to create an environment where you have enough space to notice how you are arriving, what your body needs, and what begins to change when there is less pressure to keep going.
You are not retreating from life indefinitely. You are creating enough space to meet it differently.
The intention of seven nights is not to promise that stress disappears or that your nervous system is permanently changed.
It is to give you enough time and support to begin experiencing a different baseline.
You may begin to notice:
